WAF releases the invitation package for the 2026 World Championships in India

The World Armwrestling Federation has officially invited national federations to the 47th World Armwrestling Championship and 28th World Para Armwrestling Championship. The event will take place in Delhi, India, from October 26 to November 7, 2026.

The host organizer is the People’s Armwrestling Federation of India (PAFI). More than 1,700 competitors, officials and supporters from over 60 countries are expected. The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi will serve as the main venue for competitions, weigh-ins, classification, official meetings and ceremonies.

Key deadlines

August 26, 2026 - online team registration opens.
September 14, 2026 - deadline for visa support documents and para classification files.
September 26, 2026 - hotel and transfer reservation deadline.
October 14, 2026 - online registration closes.

Team online registration is arranged through WAF: http://registration.waf-armwrestling.com. Teams are expected to arrange accommodation, transfers and visa support with the Local Organizing Committee in advance.

Championship program

Teams are scheduled to arrive on October 26. Team registration and continental meetings will take place on October 27. Masters weigh-in, referee seminar, technical meeting and the WAF Congress are scheduled for October 28.

Competition starts on October 29 with Masters left and right arm classes and the Opening Ceremony. Sub-Juniors 15, Juniors 18 and Youth 23 will compete on October 30-31. Para armwrestling is scheduled for November 1-2, while Senior classes will run from November 3 to 6. The Closing Ceremony is planned for November 6 at 21:00, with team departure on November 7.

Accommodation and venue

The main hotel and championship venue is The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi. Official accommodation packages are available in 5-star, 4-star and 3-star hotels. The Leela main hotel is recommended for para athletes because accommodation, catering, meetings and competition activities are located in the same complex.
