For almost two weeks, Budapest became the center of European armwrestling. From May 8 to May 20, 2026, the city hosted the European Armwrestling, Para-Armwrestling and Deaf Armwrestling Championship 2026 — a major event bringing together juniors, youth athletes, seniors, masters, para-athletes and deaf athletes.
It was one of the key European events of the season, with hundreds of athletes from dozens of countries fighting for medals on both left and right arm. The largest delegation was Georgia with 181 athletes, while Ukraine, Hungary and Türkiye also brought very strong teams.
Georgia looked dominant in Budapest. In classic armwrestling, the team won the overall standings with 38 gold, 28 silver and 22 bronze medals. Türkiye was close behind with 34 golds and 830 points against Georgia’s 859. Ukraine completed the top three with 23 gold, 30 silver and 23 bronze placings.
In para-armwrestling, Georgia’s lead was even clearer: 58 gold, 47 silver, 17 bronze and 1090 team points. Ukraine finished second, Armenia third.
Armwrestling overall: Georgia, Türkiye, Ukraine.
Para Armwrestling overall: Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia.
EuroArm 2026 was a deep and competitive championship, with future junior leaders, elite senior classes and a strong para-armwrestling program. Events like this show the real depth of European armwrestling, not only through champions but through the strength of national teams as a whole.
